TORX - for safe and reliable connectionELECTRONICON’s CAPAGRIP™ terminals soon to come with TORX screws. Our CAPAGRIP™ Terminal has gained great popularity, and has been copied by several competitors since its introduction in 1999. When developing the CAPAGRIP™ concept 12 years ago, we decided to incorporate cross-head screws of the POZIDRIVE system as that seemed to be the most popular option at the time. Since then, however, we have found again and again that many users in the world do not pay proper attention to the difference between POZIDRIVE screws and the other kind of cross-head screw: the PHILLIPS system. Fastening a screw of one system with the screwdriver of the other may result in destruction of the head and insufficient fixing torque which, on electrical terminals, may cause substantial problems. We are committed to giving you solutions that are free from any potential for misunderstanding or misinterpretation, or usage of wrong tools. Therefore, we modify the design of our CAPAGRIP™ terminals by introducing an alternative screw type: TORX.
Advantages of the TORX screw: - optimum control of torque transmission to the screw - no vertical pressure during fixation required; avoids damage to the internal wiring of the capacitor - unique and definite tool, confusion impossible: enhances safety and transparency of your assembly process This clever screw head solution has become one of the world’s leading screw standards, and proper tools are available all over the world. Note that all three terminal designs CAPAGRIP™ K, L and M will be fitted with TORX T20 screws.
The transition from Pozidrive to Torx shall start in August 2011 for all capacitors with CAPAGRIP™ K terminals. For terminal designs CAPAGRIP™ L and M, the change shall commence in November 2011. A sticker on the box will tell you that the capacitors inside are fitted with TORX screws.
Always in charge. And another step ahead. <- Back to: News |
