Motor run capacitors are AC capacitors designed for the operation of induction motors on single phase mains supplies.They are also used for
the operation of three phase asynchronous motors on single phase AC mains supplies.
Motor run capacitors are also compensating for the reactive current of the motor, and can improve the power factor up to cos phi = 1 if selected properly.
Motor capacitors can also be used in any AC or DC application provided the specified operating conditions and permissible loads are not exceeded.
The capacitors are available in the reknown self-healing technologies MKP and MPP.
Motor capacitors in aluminium case with FP protection are provided with an integrated overpressure safety mechanism (break-action).
MKP capacitors without safety device are housed either in aluminium or flame-retardant and self-extinguishing plastic case which is filled with
solid artificial resin. This increases their reliability and capacitance stability, especially in extreme climatic conditions and under hard
mechanical stress.
