Total span of capacitor operation with no more deviation of capacitance from initial value than -3%...-10%, or failure, usually stated in hours.  The life span of capacitors may vary depending on external factors (operating conditions: voltage, current, temperature, humidity, etc.) as well as internal factors (material, technology).
