Phase Asymmetry, Phase Imbalance: The change of capacitance in one of the phases of a three-phase capacitor will cause an uneven power output per phase. This effect is a typical failure scenario of traditional ALLFILM-capacitors and will cause an imbalance (or asymmetry) among the phases of the three-phase mains. Asymmetries between the phases cannot develop in MSD capacitors, thanks to their self-healing film. Monitoring of the star point is therefore no longer necessary.
